Leenakomarraju:

Planning to buy a new sunscreen that you’ve seen in the market? Better think twice before you do that. Boots moisturiser to obscure the thin line between cosmetics and medicine

April 23rd, 2008

Somyamathur:

It would only seem like a sensible thing to do when one proports the idea that out of all the face creams available in the market, let’s figure out which one proves to be the most effective. Often women get carried away by brands without even realizing the percentage of relevant chemicals that are in the cream or whether or not will it suit them. Anti-ageing cream is one such product that women buy in dozens simply because they help them to fight against their perpetual enemy - Age.

BBC’s Horizon programme last year undertook such research and declared Boots’ moisturizer ‘No 7′ as No.1 in efficiency to slow down ageing. Following their lead, Chris Griffiths, professor of dermatology at the University of Manchester, administered this study on 60 volunteers for a period of 6 months and the data is still under analysis at the moment. If its high efficiency is proven, it will spark off a debate where dermatologists and peers will question the threshold of efficiency, upon reaching which, a cosmetic will be declared a medicine. Cellulite Treatments - The Secret Revealed

March 18th, 2008

Hi! Do you suffer from cellulite? Are you looking for treatments that actually work in getting rid of cellulite?

Then today’s blog post is for you.

We are going to talk about cellulite creans to review which ones work and what to avoid. Cellulite is a skin alteration often described as an ‘orange peel,’ ‘mattress,’ or ‘dimpling’ appearance on the thighs, buttocks and sometimes lower abdomen of otherwise healthy women. (Why do women get these things???)

I saw this image online and I think it perfect illustration of cellulite:

The reason this is so is because Women have a different fat cell structure in the skin versus Men. I will quickly go into more details on cellulite and the surprising results from our tests (with pictures) but before I do I wanted to share you some advice that will save you from waisting your money.

What not to look for!

On this point, my main advice is DON’T GET SCAMMED! If you’re dead set on buying some kind of cellulite cream or treatment, then Take 2 minutes and read this article — we will enlighten you and save you from wasting your money.

There are many web sites that are selling cellulite creams, and they’ll likely push the product that makes them the most money - or they’ll rate it #1 because of that reason — when behind the scenes, it’s only #1 in terms of making money for them.

Do you really want to trust them?

Read this review and order whatever you want directly from the manufacturer. I have included links to the manufacturers websites.
The Recent Buzz on Cellulite Creams

You’re here because you’re looking for cellulite treatments that work, right? You don’t want to waste your money, do you? Good… so read on.

Many of my readers have gained weight over the years and have gotten cellulite and have asked me what I recommend to prevent cellulite or even erase their cellulite … and FAST. Nobody wants any ugly dimpling of the skin that they didn’t have before.

So what should a person do?The big buzz in the skin care circles have been treatments that help breakdown and repair the fat cell structure in the Skin. if you not aware, it is the fat cell structure that cause the orange peel effect in you skin. It’s very different from older cellulite treatments that only moisturize the skin. The new cellulite treatments go beyond moisturizing.

Dermatologist say the key to cellulite treatments is a group of biochemicals known as methyxanthines. Methyxanthines can enhance the body’s ability to breakdown stored fat, a process called lypolysis.

This is very different from Retinoids based creams that only increase the density in the epidermiyal layer. What you want is to support healthy fat breakdown in the skin so you can remove Cellulite that has formed in the first place.

Before I get carried away with the technical mumbo jumbo, I’m not going to go into a lot of detail here about what cellulite is and its basis in Science - you can research that on your own if you want.

You are here looking for cellulite solutions so what I am going to do is show you results from many months of testing cellulite treatments, on real people… clients, friends and people I know, and let you decide if these treatments are for you.

Why did I do the study?

As you probably already know, I work in a hair and skin salon, so I do a lot of facials, waxings and other skin treatments on my clients. I have the pleasure of meeting all kinds of great people in the salon - those with fabulously great skin, and those that need a lot of help.

Many of my friends and people that I know asked me what works with cellulite, and many were going to try various creams regardless of what I told them, so I asked if I could document their results. I actually had over 10 people on some kind of cellulite treatment last year.

Some of the products they used ranged from traditional over the conter skin creams you can buy in Walgreens or some other drug store to organic home remedies, but I’m only going to cover a few of them here right now that we saw great results with.

The two results you are about to see are what I consider pretty inspiring. They followed every word I said and achieved spectacular results. They have also given me permission to post their photos and their story:

Jenny’s Story

Jenny was one our best test cases in the treatment of her Cellulite and the inspiration behind today’s post.

Jenny was a little overweight after having her first child and was really worried about her Cellulite because her mom had gotten Cellulite and she thought it would be heredity. Jenny was a client of mine and I have done many exfoliating and skin care treatments on her so having great skin was very important to her.

When Jenny first came to me she was literally sobbing because she had tried almost everything under the sun to combat her cellulite (she even tried doing that cellulite wrap thing).

I usually have a belief there is always a way to make anything happen so when people tell me “You Can’t” do something that usually gets my blood boiling.Anyways back to Jenny…

We did some research on different cellulite treatment creams and we decided to use Name Brand (Starts with a N.) over the counter cream and we heard some good things about it. In the beginning we saw some initial good results.

However Jenny started noticing more ugly Cellulite (see photo A) forming on her butt so we decided to switch to Plan B.

We started using the Revitol line of Skin Care products and specifically the Revitol Cellulite cream. After a few months Jenny noticed the cellulite that were forming were diminishing. We must say that Jenny also was working on her diet and exercise too.

You will see results from using the cellulite creams mentioned here on their own, but you will see the best results combining the cellulite treatments with a restrictive calorie diet (meaning eat less junk) and cellulite excersise.

Around the 6 month of her cellulite skin care regiman the results were pretty dramatic as you can see from the Picture B.

Melissa’s Story

Melissa was one tough cookie when it came to her cellulite. She was very overweight when she was a teenager and in her 20’s. Then a few years ago she lost over 30 pounds in a rigorous 4 month fitness and dietary boot camp.

Even though Melissa was happy about the weight loss, she still had cellulite in and around her thighs and butt. Melissa searched for some kind of cellulite solution over the past couple of years and she was about to give up on finding any that would work when I started this test….and needless to say she didn’t have any hope at all.

You can see in the photo below that when Melissa started the test, her cellulite was not pretty to say the least (Is there any cellulite that looks pretty?)

After doing some research we decided to try out a cellulite cream called BodyShape from Hydroderm line of skin creams. We used the cream through out a 6 month period and the results were pretty promising.

You can see in the photo below that Melissa’s cellulite were visibly reduced from when we started the test. Not only were the cellulite less apparent than before, Melissa was very happy with the results.

THE FINAL RESULTS:

I ran tests on 10 different people, all with varying degrees of success. Of the 10 Cellulite Creams we tested, the top 3 results were pretty unanimous:

2nd Place: HydroDerm’s BodyShape - www.Hydroderm.com:

3rd Place: Avatone’s BodyScuplt - www.avatone.com:

Carbon Dioxide: A new anti-aging treatment!

November 5th, 2007

Arpita:

anti aging treatment result

A new treatment using carbon dioxide is set to revolutionize the anti-aging treatment. The ‘Brazilian Rio-Blush rejuvenation system’ is now available in Britain after being a huge success in the US. According to the celebrity Parisian doctor, Jules-Jacques Nabet the treatment has produced amazing results.

While treating a patient carbon dioxide gas is injected just under the surface of the skin using a fine needle. The gas diffuses into the surrounding tissues and cause blood vessel to dilute. Wider blood vessels increase oxygen and nutrient supply to the treated area.

Smoking may damage your skin

September 21st, 2007

Shirsha:

spotty guyIn a study conducted by British Journal of Dermatology, it is found that female smokers experience ‘dotty skin’.

It also says that smoking is not one reason for women developing marks on their face. Stress, pollution, hormonal alterations, occupation, exposure to steam and heat for longer hours etc. lead to non-inflammatory acne. As skin make-up varies from individual to individual so all smokers may not experience such dermatological problems.
